Val Thorens Hotel - great location!

I stayed at Hotel Le Val Thorens last month.  The ski in and out location of this hotel can't be beat.  It's adjacent to one of the kids' learning areas, located centrally in the village, and very convenient to après and shopping.  The staff was very  accommodating.  The common areas and hallways are a bit stark but my room was cozy, renovated with warm finishes and with a view to the slopes.  I had some time to enjoy their wellness area with nice new pool, steam and sauna.  Breakfast was ample with a full buffet of hot and cold items.  One of the best features is their huge slopeside deck where you can order lunch, après cocktails, and appetizers.  It's a great place to sit and watch all the slopeside activities, whether it's kids playing in the snow with sleds and other toys, or just people-watching.
