About Okemo Resort

For a quaint New England ski vacation Okemo is the best fit. Located in the village of Ludlow in South-central Vermont and surrounded by farmland and granite quarries, Okemo was originally a small community-run ski hill. Purchased in 1982 by the Mueller family, who also owns Crested Butte, the resort has since been transformed into a popular, world-class resort destination. The resort is still family-owned and -operated, and it shows. In addition to its family-friendliness, Okemo is known for its excellent customer service, grooming and vast intermediate terrain.

First tracks are practically guaranteed when staying slopeside on Okemo Mountain. And each ski in, ski out lodging accommodation has access to a pool. The brand new Jackson Gore Base Area lodge offers incredible services including its own trails, lifts, Learning Center, restaurants, day care center and shops.

Ski Okemo

Just about every skier will pleased with Okemo’s terrain offerings, only further bolstering the resorts status a family favorite. Beginners have their run of 32 percent of the terrain. Okemo offers a “learn to ski” zone right from the base area. The area is optimal for first-time skiers or boarders. Once early beginners feel ready they have their run of Okemo’s variety of green runs, from extremely flat and short to longer, or mid-way up the mountain, to fun, meandering trails from nearly every chairlift summit. Intermediates also have their pick with 37 percent of the terrain. Advanced and expert skiers have plenty of steeps, moguls and glades to entertain them.

At 450 feet long, with 18 foot walls and decks spaced about 50 feet apart, Okemo is home to the longest Superpipe in the East. Located in the “Dew Zone,” the Superpipe is maintained regularly with a laser-guided Zaugg Pipe Monster and serviced by its own lift.
